The Horizontal Christmas Tree Project in the Bohai Sea Region Made a Breakthrough

In 2021, Douson and ConocoPhillips (CNOOC Tianjin) reached a supply agreement on the wellhead and Christmas tree equipment of the two platforms of Penglai 19-3B&D, which have been successfully delivered to customers and put into use.
ConocoPhillips is a well-known comprehensive multinational energy company in the United States. As the third largest energy company in the United States, its core business includes oil development and refining, natural gas development and sales, and processing and sales of petroleum fine chemicals. Penglai 19-3 oil field is one of the largest oil fields jointly developed by ConocoPhillips and CNOOC in China, covering an area of more than 3,200 square kilometers.
The project is located in the center of the Bohai Bay, where seawater corrosion is severe; the wellheads are densely distributed and the space is compact; the project has a tight delivery period, short operation period and high intensity. We face great challenges.
In order to successfully complete the project, Douson finally decided to adopt a single-tube double-well design for some wellheads: the design of one tube and two wells effectively saves installation space, and at the same time breaks the conventional design that the components of the Christmas tree are installed on the upper part, and there is no need to wait for the tubing hanger device After the installation is completed, the wax removal valve assembly is directly connected to the upper part of the oil pipe suspension device, making the installation of the whole set of equipment more efficient, maintenance more convenient, and performance more secure and stable. At the same time, the horizontal Christmas tree scheme is adopted, which reduces the overall height of the Christmas tree and facilitates later wellhead maintenance.
The integral single-tube double-well wellhead and Christmas tree developed by Douson, the hangers all adopt the internal locking circlip structure, which reduces the leakage of wellhead pressure, and is equipped with Douson's patented pick-up tool, which has low buckle-up torque and easy installation and operation; The mandrel-type hanger is matched with emergency slips. The installation and operation of the mandrel-type hanger is simple, and there is no need to cut and polish the casing, saving labor and working time. At the same time, emergency slip hangers can be used to deal with underground emergencies: Douson has imported casing cutting machines and provides on-site services; the integral wellhead and Christmas tree has a compact design, adopts sufficient theoretical calculations and finite element analysis, and passes In-factory trial assembly and pressure cycle tests are fully verified to ensure the reliability and stability of the overall design.
Penglai 19-3B&D is a part of the 19-3 oilfield, and the smooth delivery of project equipment has enabled us to accumulate valuable on-site experience, laying the foundation for good cooperation with customers in the later stage, and opening up for Douson to further develop the Bohai Sea regional market new situation.
